This site is a lot of things, a journal, a "blog", a collection of photos and thoughts of my travels, musings on history, philosophy, Christianity, and science, and also some technical information on Macs and PCs. Hope you find it useful and interesting! This site uses Quicktime "progressive" streaming (I'll be supporting ReadMedia and Windows Media in the near future.) Except for Quicktime technology from Apple Computer Corp., this site uses Open Source software, indicated below. Specifically, the computer hosting this site runs Red Hat Linux, Version 9.0, uses Apache as the web server, uses PHP to serve dynamic content, and stores data using a MySQL database server, all freely available, secure, very customizable, and of the highest quality. (Can you tell, I'm a little biased..). Well enough of that...

I think I finally got some sleep between 7:00 and 9:00 AM. Work at Jews For Jesus was pretty normal. I managed to finish all the code related to the date fields (so they'd use pop-up screens instead of text fields).
Talked to Darren for about an hour late in the afternoon (around 4:00). Also briefly David Stone came in to the computer room with his wife to tell about the Christmas party and to pick a slip of paper to buy a gift for ñ it was Darren's wife ñ Melissa.
Around lunchtime- John ìthe philosopherî came by again ñ I was showing him how to play Go on Monday. He is fascinating to talk to ñ very thoughtful. I wish I could commesirate with him more but I feel a little guilty if I'm not working for very long.
John, Henry and I were talking about AI, and other things.
Finished about 6:28 tonight. Zipped up my work for today, did a backup, printed out the invoice.
On the way home, stopped at the grocery store on the block ñ Haight foods ñ and picked up some Baklava and oatmeal raisin cookies. They were playing some Greek music (owner is a short Greek man, and I immediately thought of Alexander who was from Greece though technically from ìMacedon.î
Tonight, Kiyomi made koroke for dinner. It was fabulous!! She made it with carrots, onions, pumpkin, potato, and a little tofu. Also had some wine ñ which I had been looking forward to.
I bought electronic tickets to Utah tonight to visit Chase and the family ñ through Orbitz ñ it was the first time buying tickets on the Web. For United Airlines.
It felt really good to commit to doing something about going after just talking about it Kiyomi was kind of moping for a while (complains I ignore her when I am with relatives), but then started to warm up to the idea later. She asked me to write out a promise in her appt. book that I wouldn't ignore her.
I really thought it was silly, but I did, and signed and dated it.
We had hot cocoa and some cookies about 20 minutes ago (it's now 12:15 AM Sat. morning) ñ Kiyomi still reading through an article she founin Scientific American on stem cells.
