Here is a casual picture of me on a trip to Honolulu recently to visit family and friends!    I was born in Koror, Palau in 1965. Our family moved to Honolulu, Hawaii in 1972, where I spent the next 26 years of my life. I Lived in Nagoya, Japan between 1998 and 2001, where I met my wife Kiyomi, and we moved to San Francisco after returning to the states. I have been programming computers since 1990, since moving to San Francisco, I have been consulting for various clients under the name Stanton Web Applications. Currently, I'm consulting full-time for Jews For Jesus.

This site is a lot of things, a journal, a "blog", a collection of photos and thoughts of my travels, musings on history, philosophy, Christianity, and science, and also some technical information on Macs and PCs.   Hope you find it useful and interesting! This site uses Quicktime "progressive" streaming (I'll be supporting ReadMedia and Windows Media in the near future.)    Except for Quicktime technology from Apple Computer Corp., this site uses Open Source software, indicated below. Specifically, the computer hosting this site runs Red Hat Linux, Version 9.0, uses Apache as the web server, uses PHP to serve dynamic content, and stores data using a MySQL database server, all freely available, secure, very customizable, and of the highest quality. (Can you tell, I'm a little biased..). Well enough of that...

Get QuickTime

Get Apache

Get PHP

Get MysQL

Running on Red Hat 9.0

(NOTE: This was added from a WORD document I created last year - AGS)

I am updating this on Friday, Dec. 3, 2004. Today was pretty good actually. Good work in the day with Jews For Jesus - put in a full day's work there. Work at JFJ was pretty normal ñ I think I turned off the PPP automation on the Dome end of things so that it wouldn't create new bad orders.

Met Robert Mohr at 6:35 PM in front of the Metreon ticket lines downstairs at the Metreon ñ to see ìAlexanderî, starring Colin Farrell as Alexander and Angelina Jolie as his mother Olympias. The movie started at 6:50, went for 3 hours. It was long but very fast-paced, and never seem to let up ñ I guess like Alexander himself, who rushed through Asia by the time he was 33. The movie was rich ñ scenery was incredible, especially the scene when he enters Babylon with his troops. He must have been quite an amazing man, and you could see why his troops were so loyal to him, they went all the way into India. I only wished there was a little more character development.

Movie ended near 10:00 ñ it was close to 11:00 before I got home. Only thing we had to eat was the popcorn, but I thought it was too late to eat anything.

Kiyomi talked about her classes ñ she was really upset because she got two Fs ñ on two different quizzes, and was feeling very depressed but talkative.

I talked a little bit about the movie.

We went to bed just past midnight, but I couldn't sleep. Kiyomi was snoring a lot, so I kept getting up.

I also had another strange dream. I dreamed I was taking a test ñ it was a math test, but it was for a test I didn't know I had to take so I unprepared for it, and didn't study for it. There was a tub things on my desk making sounds, so I couldn't concentrate. A student, a girl got up in the center of the classroom and started chatting loudly to another student about her experiences earlier in the summer, and I was sweating because time was running out of the test. As I recall the problem was something related to Fourier series or some such thing.
