This site is a lot of things, a journal, a "blog", a collection of photos and thoughts of my travels, musings on history, philosophy, Christianity, and science, and also some technical information on Macs and PCs. Hope you find it useful and interesting! This site uses Quicktime "progressive" streaming (I'll be supporting ReadMedia and Windows Media in the near future.) Except for Quicktime technology from Apple Computer Corp., this site uses Open Source software, indicated below. Specifically, the computer hosting this site runs Red Hat Linux, Version 9.0, uses Apache as the web server, uses PHP to serve dynamic content, and stores data using a MySQL database server, all freely available, secure, very customizable, and of the highest quality. (Can you tell, I'm a little biased..). Well enough of that...

Blog covering the events in New Orleans was down for a while this morning, but it is back up. Some improvement to the city. The US Army Corps of Engineers fixed
the levee, so now they can drain the city. It will still take weeks.
Many feel that the govt. should have done a lot more to help and should have
responded much quicker than it did.
Walked to work today - left at 8:50, arring at 9:15 PM. Nice morning, was a little chilly when I started out, but was sweating when I got to work. Kiyomi made a curry stuffed croisant (from the curry she made last night). It was very delicious.
Been working on the off-line database, and making some real progress. We'll
be able to sync contacts reliably now after today.
